Athletics

Home of the Eagles

Temple Baptist School is a member of the North Carolina Christian Athletic Association (NCCAA) and competes in regular season and tournament play in soccer, volleyball, basketball, softball, and golf.  We encourage any student in 7th through 12th grade to get involved in the sports program.

*Students must meet the academic requirements to remain eligible for these activities.

Christian athletics is competition between individuals or teams whereby all participants are dedicated to playing the sports to bring honor to Jesus Christ.  The purpose of Christian athletics is two-fold:

  1. Building character in the life of each athlete, exercising the ability to work with others, developing self-discipline, encouraging others to do their best, developing lasting friendships; and
  2. Helping each athlete conform to the image of Jesus Christ.
When these cease to exist as primary goals of a coach, the athletic program ceases to be Christian. Coaches and players are ambassadors for Christ (II Corinthians 5:20) and should conduct themselves in that manner, especially when engaging in athletic events.
